- Aldo Leopold

What did the Legendary ecologist Aldo Leopold have to do with Las Dos?

The American author, ecologist and forester, Aldo Leopold was married to Nina’s sister, Estella Bergere Leopold. Aldo studied Las Dos with his family, including Estella, Carl, Luna and Starker, to learn about water movement and soil erosion.

In the 1970’s, Aldo’s nephews, Jack and Bergere Kenney, wrote the covenant for phase I, II & III at Las Dos based on the Leopold land ethic, keeping and preserving the integrity of the local ecosystem and its rich history.
